How to create a user
Users are your staff. There are many different levels and permissions that can be assigned to a "user group" and then you create users and assign them to that group.
The most common are;
Web Interface - website bookings
Customers - repeat customers that login to change their bookings or buy more
Agents - Other companies that sell your product
Consultants - receptionists, frontline staff, everyday employees.
Administrators - supervisors, managers, accountants.
When creating a new user you will need to know what level of access you are wanting to give them.
- Select Setup
- Users
- All users
- Create New User
- Internal user - ?
- Class name; Choose J6member
- J6member (all standard users should be this class)
- Customer (for creating customer users, these are created everytime a new booking is made so you should not need to create one here however the option is here if you should need it)
- Paymentlinkuser (for DPS) - these will be set up by your OperatorHub team
- APIUser (for an external api user) - these will be set up by your OperatorHub team
- Driver (usually created in staff setup)
- WebsiteTravelAPIUser (for an external api user) - these will be set up by your OperatorHub team - Username - this must be unique same with other users so if anyone across our client base has already chosen this username it will be unavailable. If you choose [businessname][agentname] and set up all agent users the same way, it will keep things easy for you and consistent, the choice is yours
- Email - enter an email address for the user
- First name & Surname - this appears in top right of OperatorHub so choose a name that will make sense to the agent
- Weight - Only required for staff setup, otherwise leave blank
- Password: Create them an easy one like [agentname]. If you don’t want to know what it is then require them to pick there own when they sign in.
- Group - Select the user group, what level of permission this user will have. These will have been pre created for you.
- Supplier - is this user associated to a specific supplier? if so select the supplier otherwise leave as none
- Agency/branch: this is where you assign the user to the agency. Some users will not be able to change their agency (agents users) most staff will have the permission to change agency. you can still assign them to your company as the agency. This will then be their default agency when using OperatorHub.
- Quick links: these appear at the top of the home screen/dashboard and are customisable to each agent user. Select which you would like them to be able to view. Create booking is the most useful for agent users.
- Add user
